Without Reservations (1946 Mervyn LeRoy)

Claudette Colbert, an author called George, meets marines John Wayne and Don DeFore on a train where there is some hiding of real identity. It rains, they buy a car (the distinctive front grill belongs to an Isotta Fraschini 8A), meet a Mexican family, and Cary Grant cameos.

Pleasant fun also features a mad 'beetle' in the shape of Anne Triola. It's an RKO film shot by Milton Krasner, scored by Roy Webb.
