Juliette Lewis, Diane Keaton, Giovanni Ribisi, Tom Skerritt, Poppy Montgomery, Sarah Paulson, Juliet Mills and (inevitably) Hector Elizondo.

Gary Marshall died on July 19 aged 81. This - his most atypical film - he co-wrote, which was itself unusual. Juliette Lewis is great as functionally dysfunctional daughter - tension comes from overly controlling mother Keaton, Mills lovely family servant, Elizondo a guitar playing father figure to Ribisi. The fight the young couple has is believable. Good, and moves along briskly.
