The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017 Patrick Hughes)

Written by Tom O'Connor, a matchstick thin buddy-buddy plot, film as computer game, edited so fast they'll hope you miss the absurdities.

Samuel L Jackson and Ryan Reynolds have reasonable chemistry; it's a shame the Selma Hayek character couldn't have been brought into the action somehow. Of which there is a lot. When you want mindless action with cheesey laughs this is your film. There's lots of joyous carnage and CGI, as well as real action and stunts - the roads around the Riksmuseum were closed for several days, for example, and filming also took place in Kensington. The end credits are about the same length as the film.

'La Cucuracha' does indeed mean 'Cockroach'.

With Gary Oldman, Elodie Yung, Joaquim de Almeida, Richard E Grant.
