Not Okay (2022 Quinn Shepard & scr)

A loser, Zoey Deutch (Juror #2) invents a trip to Paris which coincides with a bombing, emerges as a survivor / hero. This brings her into the orbit of another survivor (of a school shooting) Mia Isaac, and they bond. But a suspicious office worker finds out what's going on and forces her to confess. The survivor's poemy rap thing in response is the film's powerful ending. So quite a successful look at fake news. She's not a likeable character, but nor is the totally fake influencer she's after, Dylan O'Brien (who always appears through a cloud of cannabis smoke). Told in section parts.

We thought it was pretty good.
