Girl With Green Eyes (1964 Desmond Davis)

Another beautifully put together film from Davis, DP Manny Wynn, editor Brian Smedley-Aston (and, uncredited Antony Gibbs) and composer John Addison. This one based on a novel by Edna O'Brien ('The Lonely Girl') and written by her for the screen.

Country Irish girls Rita Tushingham and Lynn Redgrave in Dublin meet Peter Finch - Rita falls for him. She's wonderful - about 21 here. All three are great.

"Baba - do I look like a woman with a past?"
"Oh no, just a right looking idjiot."

One of the earliest examples of a scene between two characters taking place over different locations.

Davis said 'we saw film as a sort of poetry'. A Woodfall film in which Tony Richardson promoted Davis to director for the first time. It sort of lingers afterwards - a good sign.
