The Linguini Incident (1990 Released 1991 Richard Shepard & co-scr)

I wasn't sure if Thomas Newman's interesting, ambitious early score included that super fast jazz number that's used throughout: the credits list an enigmatic number called 'Big Fat Attitude' , composed by Matthew Temple, Kai Turnbull, Jonathan Abel & Blake Newman (not a relative as far as I can ascertain) and performed by 'Ming Opposed' - try Googling that lot and it'll get you a fat nowhere.

A very idiosyncratic film, written by Shepard (The Matador) and Tamar Brott, involving a quirky escape artist / waitress, Rosanna Arquette, and a British waiter who needs to get married in a hurry, David Bowie. The couple decide to rob the restaurant they're working for, owned by Buck Henry and Andre Gregory, with the help of underwear designer Eszter Balint, making it something of a media success. Iman is a restaurant patron.

We first saw it on VHS on 2/10/93: 'Dali restaurant, special effects bras, Houdini's ring. Translucent, good-natured comedy with bright spots.' 6/10. I wonder what I meant by 'translucent'?

IMDB states it's in 1.78:1, which it probably was, though our ITV DVD is in 4x3. It's photographed by Robert Yeoman.
