Scenes from a Mall (1991 Paul Mazursky & co-w)

Is it a comedy? Not really, it's a two-hander play, essentially, set one afternoon in an LA shopping mall, examining the state of 24 year married Bette Midler and Woody Allen.

The lurches between outright fury and tenderness are a little difficult to buy.

Featuring some rapped Christmas carols, several orders of sushi and an annoying mime (Bill Irwin), with the director appearing briefly as Bette's lover.
