When Ladies Meet (1933 Harry Beaumont)

According to 'The MGM Story' (John Douglas Eames 1975) 'Alice Brady's stylized delivery of laugh lines stole the picture' - it's unfortunate then that none of those laugh lines remain at all funny. In fact the 'comedy' scenes are awful, Martin Burton being particularly (almost relishfully) bad, and the film is awash with fake laughter. Pre-Code plot describes triangle between Myrna Loy (third billed), Ann Harding and Frank Morgan, with Robert Montgomery butting in.

Notice sizes of relative names in billing
Stage source very obvious. One of seven Myrna Loy films released that year (we thought Penthouse was much better).
