Another from Will's list of Worthy War Films, written by A.F.N Clarke and adapted from his own book (more about him here), short BBC film accurately captures the routine, boredom and sudden violence of (a very young) army unit in Northern Ireland, in dry, musicless approach. Terrific ending in which an abandoned car is inspected, in long shot, then there's an explosion...
