Written by Ted Whitehead. A group of 'Christians' conspire to murder a pregnant girl. Brilliant film, originally shown in a three parts, has a fantastic cast, great direction. Shot quite close, perhaps a choice made when filming for television screen rather than cinema. I remember when the series first came out, Cracker was 'must watch' TV. It has held up really well.
With Robbie Coltrane and Geraldine Somerville are Lorcan Cranitch, Ricky Tomlinson, Jim Carter, Samantha Morton, Maureen O'Brien (long TV career since Dr Who in 1965), James Fleet, Cherith Mellor, Darren Tighe, Roger Sloman, Ellie Haddington, Barbara Flynn, Emma Cunniffe (Roadkill, Endeavour, Southcliffe).
Moment where Fitz manages to get the boy to admit he loved the girl one of many highlights.
Produced by Paul Abbot, created by Jimmy McGovern, shot by Ivan Strasburg, edited by Oral Norrie Ottey.
