Cheerful German Hardy Krüger finds it hard getting on at Cambridge university, though meeting gorgeous Sylvia Syms helps. Includes clearly real footage of a raucous rag week. Some of plot not executed particularly well, e.g. Kruger keeps bumping into professor, so when they realise who each other are, shouldn't that have created some tension?
Eric Barker is the jazz loving professor, Miles Malleson. Students include Ronald Lewis, Jeremy Burnham, Peter Myers (the creep in The Reluctant Debutante); girlfriends include Barbara Steele. It's quite a time capsule, with its jazz, skiffle and calypso, posh waistcoats vs. bearded Beat types.
