Baitz has adapted Laurence Leamer's non-fiction true story about Capote's betrayal of New York society women in the 1970s, over eight hours for FX.
Tom Hollander is amazing as Capote, and the powerhouse women cast includes Naomi Watts, Diane Lane (playing Hawks' ex wife 'Slim'), Chloe Sevigny, Calista Flockhart and Demi Moore. But somehow it's not as good or as much fun as the Bette / Joan series. In fact we found the third, 'Black and White Ball' episode, filmed in the style of the Maysles Brothers, so annoying, we couldn't finish it and promptly gave up on the whole thing.
Lovely title designs - in the style of the previous show - creative director Wayne Coe.
The theme music is by Tom Newman and the incidental music by his daughter Julia Newman. They're both good!
