The Wild Life (1984 Art Linson)

Photographed by James Glennon (yes, he is Bert's son).

Eric Stoltz leaves home, rashly shares new flat with party animal Chris Penn; his brother Ilan Mitchell-Smith is a weird and cool dude, obsessed by Vietnam; his ex girlfriend Lea Thompson is dating a married cop...

The Cameron Crowe bit is this:

'I have this poem that I've saved for a really long time. It used to mean a lot to me. I'll read it to you if you promise not to laugh. "If you love something let it go. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never was." '
'That sucks, Eileen.'
'Yeah, you're right. I guess I haven't read it for a while.'

It's good. Penn is trying to woo Jenny Wright, as is Rick Moranis, but his hair's too big. Hart Bochner was in Apartment Zero and Breaking Away.

There's a mad party, and the Vietnam vet does exist (but is on smack).
