Nicolas Cage is a Secret Special Agent In Charge of former first wife Shirley MacLaine, who for no explained reason is extremely difficult to get along with; naturally they become fast friends after nonsensically  plotted kidnap attempt.

Also features the interesting actor Austin Pendleton, memorable from Wilder's Front Page remake, though other directors don't really know what to do with him. Also the late Richard Griffiths: what role he plays in the house is moot.
