The one where Nick only drinks cider as his dad doesn't approve of the hard stuff, and this happens (perhaps as a result):
Nora's been talking to the press! But despite Nick's claims he's just taking a vacation, naturally a murder plot ensues. Harry Davenport and Lucile Watson are mom and pop, Edward Brophy keeps hiding in the bushes (what is his character doing there anyway??) He comes out with early exclamation of "Well cut off my legs and call me shorty!"
With Gloria deHaven (wannabe actress), Anne Revere ('Crazy Mary'), Helen Vinson & Leon Ames, Donald Meek (You Can't Take It With You, Come Live With Me), Lloyd Corrigan (other doctor), Anita Sharp-Bolster (maid; sounds like an instruction given by guest in hotel), Donald MacBride (police chief), Tom Fadden (uncredited in train corridor scene - It's A Wonderful Life), Charles Halton (uncredited: To Be Or Not To Be, The Shop Around the Corner, The Best Years of Our Lives). And Asta.
Written for the comedy by Capra regular Robert Riskin and Dwight Taylor (Pickup on South Street), from a story by Riskin and Harry Kurnitz. Photographed by Karl Freund and edited by Ralph E Winters (tons of great films including Avanti).
