Big budget, tough Disney production, written for the screen by Jeanne Rosenberg, an animal lover who 'accidentally' became a screenwriter on The Black Stallion, also wrote White Fang - which also features Jed the Wolf (trainer Clint Rowe).
The wolf is great, but Meredith Salenger is the human who carries the film (she's in pretty much every scene). With John Cusack, Ray Wise, Lainie Kazan, Scatman Crothers.
Beautifully photographed by Dick Bush (Mahler), scored by James Horner, production designer Paul Sylbert. Noticed Steven Rosenblum is an additional editor but unable to establish if he's related to Ralph.
