Becoming Jane (2007 Julian Jarrold)

Seems to me to be quite quickly edited in the opening Hampshire scene - gets slower as the passions intensify in  London. Emma Hickox is cutting for the emotion (and the dialogue) - well at least that's what I think's going on. It's quite difficult to watch a film just for the editing. Be easier if you turned the sound off. Though sound on or off you can't help be dazzled by the series of fades from window to writing to ballroom floor to ceiling.

Based on Jane Austen's letters, written by Sarah Williams and Kevin Hood. With Anne Hathaway and James McEvoy are Anna Maxwell Martin, Lucy Cohu, Laurence Fox, Maggie Smith (brilliant), Julie Walters, James Cromwell, Ian Richardson, Leo Bill, Joe Anderson.
