Union Station (1950 Rudolph Maté)

Paramount thriller, in which Union Station detective William Holden helps Nancy Olson locate a kidnapped, blind heiress (the two also acted together in Sunset Blvd.; both films were released in August 1950). Written by Sydney Boehm from Thomas Walsh's novel 'Nightmare in Manhattan', it also stars Barry Fitzgerald, with Lyle Bettger (No Man of Her Own) good as the kidnapper, Jan Sterling as his moll. Strange that no one thinks about where and how the kidnapping took place, which might have helped track down the culprits. Quite exciting, however.

I'm sure at one point Sterling says 'What'll we do with all that cabbage?' meaning cash - hadn't heard that one before.

Union Station is in LA and looks very much unchanged today.
