Detective Paula Malcolmson learns her long estranged daughter is dead, and that she has two grand children, Abby Fitz and Evan O'Connor. Transfers to Dublin to look after them and find out what's going on.
With Keith McErlean (useful detective colleague), Thaddea Graham (junior detective colleague), Siobhan McSweeney (strict boss), Moe Dunford (the bad guy), Scott Graham.
Malcolmson has a good, long way of looking at people. It's generally well acted. Plot steers its way round several large pot holes, main character keeps behaving improbably. A good set-up, really quite badly handled.
