Joan Crawford crosses paths with a villainous Sidney Greenstreet - it can only end one way. Well, two ways. Actually, any number of ways. What the hell am I talking about?
She initially falls for deputy sheriff Zachary Scott, but he is politically betrothed to Virginia Huston and has to do what Greenstreet tells him. Then she falls in with developer David Brian but even he is no match for the vile power grabber. Only roadhouse owner Gladys George and newspaper man Fred Clark (White Heat, Sunset Blvd.) are on her side.
