Apart from Incendiary Maguire has hardly directed anything but documentaries. Did she get the gig because she was a friend of Helen Fielding? It is neatly put together, though we really have to credit co-writers Andrew Davis and Richard Curtis, who's influence is all over the place.
With Renee Zellweger, Gemma Jones, Jim Broadbent, Celia Imrie. It's great watching the pairing of Grant and Firth, though the latter's character is annoying (he frequently doesn't say anything).
