Jason Isaacs and Phil Davies give great performances as Harry H Corbett and Wilfrid Bramble, Roger Allum as BBC producer, Burn Gorman and Rory Kinnear as Galton and Simson, Zoe Tapper Corbett's wife. It's no stretch to argue that Steptoe did ruin Corbett's promising theatrical career, though he continued to turn up in unworthy British fare in cinemas. Neither Corbett nor in-the-closet Bramble are given much sympathetic treatment.
There was a great suggestion when Bramble threatened to leave they introduce an unknown offspring to turn up on Steptoe's door and continue the 'Steptoe & Son' saga that way.
