Fairly gruelling account of old cancer afflicted man retracing a bus journey to take him back to Land's End from John O'Groats, meeting variously horrid and sympathetic characters en route.
Tim Spall is terrific (he's looking more and more like Edward Fox), but the film is somehow lacking, like it doesn't have enough humour, or pathos, or stuff about the countries, or the changes over time, or some enigmatic Umami ingredient. It's no Nebraska.
DP George Geddes, editor Anne Sopel (many mainly TV credits since 1992).
