Five Feet Apart (2019 Justin Baldoni)

Baldoni's feature debut, written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis, takes place almost entirely in a hospital, where three teenagers are being treated for cystic fibrosis. They're realistic about their chances of survival. They are Hayley Lu Richardson (exceptional), Cole Sprouse and Moises Arias (both also good), and they're supported by tough nurse Kimberly Hebert Gregory and doctor Parminder Nagra. Richardson has lost her sister and so is determined to survive; Sprouse is a talented artist, Arias a gifted chef. It's about the growing relationship between Richardson and Sprouse but how they can't risk infecting each other.

The Fault in our Stars came to mind, but it stands on its own feet, is moving and successful.
