Shankland recently directed SAS Rogue Heroes, before that The Serpent, Les Mis. Agatha's 1942 novel doesn't feature Marple much - here, she's all over the story, discerning the feelings of damaged James D'Arcy as much as solving the crime.
It's one of Cinders Forshaw's elegant episodes, written by Kevin Elyot.
