My first Tamil language film was not very easy to follow as Amazon helpfully provided the subtitles about 10 seconds ahead of the action. Epic family tragedy has father Dhanush protecting his young son Pavan from corrupt officials and land grabbers following the murder of his other son. Manju Warrier is his wife. There's also a long flashback sequence of Dhanush's first love, and how she is the victim of violence and murder. Quite a brutal film, with lots of machete wielding and spear stabbing, with a few songs as narration. Nasty baddies.
The night scenes are all quite lit. In most respects it's just like a western film. Based on the novel 'Vekkai' by Poomani.
