It was ten years ago yesterday that Philip Seymour Hoffman died. We were going to watch The Master as a tribute, but could barely understand a word Joaquin Phoenix was saying, and gave up after five minutes. Besides, this was much more fun!
William H Macy, Alec Baldwin, Hoffman, Rebecca Pidgeon (also in two other Mamet films, his adaptation of The Winslow Boy and The Spanish Prisoner), Ricky Jay, Julia Stiles, Clark Gregg, David Paymer, Charles Durning, Sarah Jessica Parker.
Unquestionably funny and cutting satire (or semi-documentary) on the film making process. Has a slight flavour of a screwball comedy to me, also.
