Well overdue, a Mike Leigh that's as moving and quietly powerful as his other pictures. Katrin Cartlidge (the aggressive one) and Lynda Steadman (dermatitis) make friends at college, hook up again six years later. The structure as it goes back and forward works really well and the girls are terrific.
Terrific. Mark Benton too great as mentally challenged friend. And with Andy Serkis, Joe Tucker, Kate Byers.
It is a bit coincidental - I would have dropped them seeing their ex room mate, which doesn't really add anything.
