Sam is working at British Intelligence too, alongside an efficient administrator Alex Clatworthy; Foyle has to navigate new boss Rupert Vansittart. A dying Russian brings Foyle's attention to the mysterious goings-on at Barton Hall, during which Foyle finds a job for ex SOE expert (Ross Armstrong). Written by David Kane. Then, a disturbed man - a brilliant performance by Charles Aitken - glimpses a hated figure from the past, a Nazi - Lars Eidinger - who is under British protection. The flashback scenes in the field are powerfully done, with most of the sound removed - just the evil Nazi whistling. Great double twist too.

This is Season Eight. Filming has moved from Dublin to Liverpool so everything looks and feels wrong. (Sorry, Liverpool, but it does.)
