Written, for a change, by Rob Heyland. An enemy plane has crashed near a farm, where land girls and a tree specialist are based. Couldn't believe Paula Jennings had a thing for sour-faced bastard farmer Nigel Terry; Jenny Platt is her lippy mate, Stella Gonet (House of Elliott) the treeologist*. Joe Armstrong is the farmer's son, James Wilby a thick officer - don't tangle with Foyle - you'll only end up having to apologise. Anatole Taubman is the scary German, Philip Martin Brown features peripherally.
Letter Gonet leaves Foyle saying she's rediscovered her respect for men is the only cheesy moment in the series so far.
