Ealing thriller with a third-billed Audrey Hepburn is intriguing, well told by Dickinson and Wolfgang Wilhelm, with a nice London atmosphere well caught by Gordon Dines and my new favourite camera operator Chic Waterson.
Charles Goldner is a lovely café manager immigrant who takes in Valentina Cortese and her younger sister Hepburn, who becomes a ballerina. Her sister though gets involved with old flame Serge Reggiani, who's become a terrorist, and she gets sucked in to help.
With Megs Jenkins, Irene Worth (a memorable performance as Scotland Yard lady), Reginald Tate, Michael Shepley (Mr Denning Drives North), Sydney Tafler, John Chandos.
Memorable moments include bombing, blacked-out terrorist meeting, showdown at café, bleak, shocking ending.
Well edited by Peter Tanner (Kind Hearts and Coronets, The Blue Lamp, Pool of London, I Believe In You, The Cruel Sea, The Night My Number Came Up, And Now the Screaming Starts, Without A Clue).

Dickinson was also responsible for the much heralded The Queen of Spades and the original British version of Gaslight.
Hepburn is in it so little I'm wondering if we saw a re-release print capitalising on her success in Roman Holiday.
