The Company You Keep (2012 Robert Redford)

Written by Lem Dobbs (The Limey) from a novel by Neil Gordon, and starts with the real Weathermen movement of the sixties and the fallout from that decades later, in thriller format. Shia LaBoeuf is a pushy journalist who outs Robert Redford's lawyer as a wanted fugitive - he goes on the run leaving his motherless daughter behind. But the journalist starts to think all is not as it seems...

There's a good confrontation between fellow activist Julie Christie and Redford about how nothing has changed and in fact things have become worse.

Journalist's boss is Stanley Tucci. FBI on the case - Terrence Howard and Anna Kendrick. Rest of great cast: Susan Sarandon, Brendan Gleeson, Nick Nolte, Chris Cooper, Richard Jenkins, Brit Marling, Sam Elliott, Stephen Root (Barry), Jacqueline Evancho (daughter). Loved the reunion of father and daughter - played silent.

A good film, photographed by Adriano Goldman, edited by Mark Day, music by Cliff Martinez. ("Why don't you ever credit the production designer?" I can hear Orson Welles growling. "They're the most important people in the film!") Production designer - Laurence Bennett (The Artist).

Knew I knew her, but couldn't put a name to the face.
