The Eyes of Orson Welles (2018 Mark Cousins & scr)

Referring repeatedly to a gallery of Orson's drawings, Cousins helps us understand the artist better. Interesting is his love of Shakespeare, 'Merrie England' and Chivalry, and changing the end of The Trial because 'the Holocaust had happened'. Also his pursuit of Officer X, who was responsible for the blinding  of a black veteran in the 1940s. And his early production sketches.

Orson's favourite lens was an 18.5mm apparently, which enable him to get those deep perspectives.
