Tom, Dick and Harry (1941 Garson Kanin)

A slightly bizarre comedy about Ginger Rogers and three marriage proposals, coming from boring George Murphy, bonkers Burgess Meredith and loaded Alan Marshal, featuring a bizarre dream about each of them. Some of these are quite trippy, but rather than look to future director John Sturges as editor, I think we need to acknowledge Vernon Walker for 'special effects'. Ginger is fun in early RKO role, notable also for small role featuring Phil Silvers as an annoying ice cream salesman. Great score from Roy Webb, photographed by Merrit Gerstad. Interesting to see the anti-Hitler feeling running through the film also.

Loved the moment Meredith calls and confronts Ginger's little sister Lenore Lonergan, and they just stare at each other.
