They manged not to fuck it up, therefore quite enjoyable. Based on the Launder-Gilliatt script, with George Axelrod throwing in some new jokes and streamlining the story. (Though he could also have tidied up a couple of things - the way the 'Froy' written on the window magically disappears, for example.)
Cybill Shepherd and Elliott Gould are an eccentric bit of casting, not sure about the chemistry (when he finally kisses her, he clearly plants one on her chin.) Did love though the single take where Gould pops his head out of the train window and then ever so smoothly the stunt man climbs out and along the outside of the train.
Wasn't quite able to enjoy Dougie Slocombe's widescreen photography in TPTV's low res print (Chic Waterson does his usual smooth job on camera).
