Leigh has had a remarkably interesting career if you think of her screwball turn in Hudsucker Proxy against her list of 'difficult' films: Last Exit to Brooklyn, Synecdoche New York, Todd Solondz's Palindromes, In the Cut and The Machinist, mixed with more straighforward fare such as Road to Perdition and Single White Female and latterly on TV in Weeds and the unfortunately hammy Revenge.
