Foyle's War: The Funk Hole (2003 Jeremy Silberstone)

What's going on? Foyle is suspended for alleged sedition ('What's sedition?' Sam asks at one point - it's the act of inciting rebellion) where we know it clearly wasn't him. Investigating officer Nicholas Farrell is up to something - has Sam transferred and threatens Milner - leaving Foyle to solve his own case, which - again - you'd never guess (written by Horowitz alone). Ingenious plotting, cross cut against a posh hotel where the well-off can pretend the war isn't happening, peopled by the likes of Richard McCabe, Jonathan Tafler, Phoebe Nicholls (bitchy journalist), Caroline Harker and Richard Hope.

Andrew ends up in the soup in the fog; and he and Sam share a kiss..
