Marple: Towards Zero (2007)

In which Greg Wise offers further proof he cannot act, Tom Baker lays on some thick ham, and Julian Sands makes a good impression as an ironing board. Should we blame the directors? There are two credited on IMDB, Nicholas Winding Refn and David Grindley, but none at all on the film itself, interestingly. Odd? Makes me think something went wrong with this one. Kevin Elyot adapted Agatha's 1944 novel, which features Superintendent Battle, not Marple, thus her scenes are slightly limited compared to other episodes.

The plot is a quite ingenious load of far-fetched bollocks.

With Zoe Tapper, Geraldine McEwan of course, Alan Davies, Paul Nicholls, Saffron Burrows, Julia Graham, Eileen Atkins (stealing the acting honours), Greg Rusedski.

Cinematography by Sue Gibson
