Harry Kurnitz and Irving Brecher have taken over from Hackett-Goodrich - the fact that Hammett isn't directly involved makes this one slightly easier to follow than the preceding entries. Nick and Nora are in San Francisco and involved in a gambling syndicate. Asta causes a huge punch-up in a restaurant and we encounter some horrible children on a merry-go-round.
