Stuart: A Life Backwards (2007 David Attwood)

Seen here, I'd kept reminding Q what a great double-act is Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch. She loved Tom's delivery and the film is funny and powerful, a difficult mix. Thankfully some of Tom's remembrances are in animated form and thus easier to swallow. Alexander Masters adapted his own book. Talking of animation I'm reminded of Masters' subsequent book, 'A Life Discarded', which is also fabulous, and its little sketches.

Only problem - film is weirdly really overlit in every scene (Ulf Brantas). (Maybe a fault with the transfer to DVD.)

Edited by Pia Di Ciaula and St John O'Rorke.
