Made for BBC television dramatization of Daily Mail journalist Peter Wildeblood who was arrested and imprisoned for homosexuality in 1950 Britain, intercut with aged men who lived through these terrifying times (one of whom describes the prevalent view of gay men then as being 'worse than murderers'). A most worthwhile and really quite shocking story, considering it wasn't so long ago. Times certainly have changed, in enlightened first world cultures, anyway, though I should add my in-laws still won't watch two men dancing on Strictly...
Danny Mays is typically convincing in lead role. With Richard Gadd, Mark Gatiss, Richard Dillane, Charlie Creed-Miles.
Written by Brian Fillis, based on Wildeblood's book.
