Mr Denning Drives North (1951 Anthony Kimmins)

Why is aircraft chairman John Mills behaving so erratically, drinking too much? He finally reveals to his wife Phyllis Calvert it's because he's accidentally killed his daughter's boyfriend, and dumped the body. In a somewhat perplexing tale, he then sets about trying to make sure the body is found, thus dropping himself further in the shit; compounded when his daughter's new boyfriend starts investigating. Has a satisfying trick ending. Written by Alec Coppel (Vertigo, The Bliss of Mrs Blossom).

With Eileen Moore, Sam Wanamaker, Herbert Lom, Raymond Huntley, Wilfred Hyde-White, Bernard Lee, Michael Shepley.

Mills described it as one of his 'rent and tax jobs'!

Good music from Benjamin Frankel, photographed by John Wilcox, editor G Turney-Smith was also the second AD.
