Sometimes, there's a reason why we haven't watched a film in six years... Gallo's screenplay is not great and frequently dumb. Also, Dana Carvey character and acting cringey (certain nod to Harpo Marx here) - Q found him funny, though.
Saved though by some of its supporting players (Richard Jenkins et al.), Nic Cage being Nic Cage, and an undeniable PG small-town feel-good factor (which probably has never existed).
