I know a gal who likes Tiffany's too, which makes me wonder why we hadn't seen this for so long. George Axelrod adapted Truman Capote's novel for what is perhaps Edwards' best film. Pairing of Audrey Hepburn with George Peppard works well; she's fabulous as always e.g. in scene in taxi when he reveals the Argentine has deserted her; and her very last look at him - a lost soul. Mancini's music is fabulous and not just for the theme, but also I love the way he uses a kind of vibe ring as a punctuation to end or begin scenes, which he also did in Charade (and doubtless set it as a style, for a while). Two great supporting actors at work here too - Martin Balsam and the totally unsympathetic Patricia Neal.

With Buddy Ebsen ('Doc'), Jose Luis de Villalonga, Mickey Rooney, John McGiver,
Mr Yunishi's Revenge is an alternative, though inferior, title. Won Oscars for Best Song and Score; Hepburn, Axelrod, Art Direction nominated; Hepburn won the David di Donatello.
Weirdly, it was exactly ten years and one day since we last watched it.
