Showtrial begins in an amusingly divisive way - Q hated this arrogant, privileged rebel who's accused of murder; I thought we'd probably end up on her side, but Richards knocks us about a bit, plot-wise.
I have to say it's very well acted, particularly by Tracy Ifeachor as the solicitor and Celine Buckens as the weirdly-named Talitha; but also by Sinead Keenan (Little Boy Blue) as the DI and Kerr Logan (Strike) from the CPS, James Frain (accused's father) and Joseph Payne (her mate). And let's not forget Rupert Holliday-Evans as the rough diamond investigator.
Directed by Zara Hayes. Music by Sam Sims, DP Matt Gray (Vigil, Broadchurch). Richards debuted in 2007 with Party Animals; more recently wrote Strike: The Cuckoo's Calling
