Land (2021 Robin Wright)

Another in a line of getting away movies like Wild and Into the Wild. Land is perhaps one of the most uninspiring and unexciting film titles of all time. We don't know why Robin Wright wants to get away from the world but she does, and almost dies. Luckily hunter Demian Bichir (who is Mexican, and was in The Hateful Eight and Weeds) is on hand and calls in nurse Sarah Dawn Pledge to help. In no time Wright is skinning deer, chopping fire wood, caressing ladybugs, singing Tears For Fears etc.

Filmed in the Rocky Mountains (Alberta, Canada) by Bobby Bukowski in a cute 1.66:1 ratio.

I liked it though. It pays out. Written by Jesse Chatham and Erin Dignam, edited by Anne McCabe (A Beautiful Day in the neighbourhood, Adventureland)  and Mikkel Nielsen (The Banshees of Inisherin).

The film did make me wonder if you had a recording of a brown bear and you played it back at ten times as loud as it was in reality, whether it would scare the bear off.
