Quite amusing seemingly improvised cultural satire, with young Robert de Niro first attempting to make a peep show film (shades of Rear Window from Hitch obsessive de Palma), falling for his voyeur subject, and becoming involved in a 'black experience' happening, which with its improvisation and black and white hand held sequences is actually quite frightening. Set in NYC (the Village) - filmed by Robert Elfstrom. Quite visually inventive - edited by what was to become a regular collaborator Paul Hirsch.
