Up the Creek (1958 Val Guest & co-scr)

Missile inventor David Tomlinson is posted to an aging battleship docked in Sussex, finds that the crew under bosun Peter Sellars are engaged in various entrepreneurial and money-making activities - the boat is a baker, laundry, butcher, toy-maker. One or two chuckles... are there? Some of the naval fast paced dialogue scenes are good.

Lionel Jeffries, Wilfred Hyde-White (steals the film as brusque naval commander more interested in horse racing), Vera Day, Liliane Sottane (one of only three films), Tom Gill, Reginald Beckwith, David Lodge.

Filmed by Arthur Grant in Hammerscope.
