House of Gucci (2021 Ridley Scott)

The Gucci family dynamic portrayed as a sort of Godfather saga. The central pull of this - why Patrizia put a hit out on her husband - isn't really developed enough - it's almost incidental. The script is definitely a problem here, too many irrelevant scenes, also in the dialogue. It was based on a non-fiction book by Sara Gay Forden, adapted by Becky Johnston and written by her and Roberto Bentivegna.

You don't really care about anyone in it. Who are portrayed by Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Jack Huston, Salma Hayek and Camille Cottin. And Q correctly identified Youssef Kerkour from Home.

One big minus - portraying people from other countries by making them talk English but with a foreign accent. Overlong (2 1/2 hours).

Technically good, lighting by Dariusz Wolski, clearly well put together by Claire Simpson (Platoon, The Constant Gardener). Great production design, costumes, hair, makeup.
