I genuinely don't know how Jeremy Stevens and Mark Reisman's screenplay was ever commissioned, as it's inept, predictable and totally mirthless. I'm amazed it's a Carl Reiner film. You can hear how clunky it is with all sorts of looping and attempts to improve it in the sound edit.

And who thought a yacht race would be exciting?
A dreadful film.
